We are looking for a Bar Manager with experience in cocktails, wines and managing a team across multiple bars to join BEBEME!

Bebeme is a bar and wine import business, specialising in wine from small, family run wineries who prioritise sustainability. We currently have locations in Mayfair and Elephant & Castle, with a new opening in Ilford at the end of May. We are an exciting new company which is forecasted to double in size, and want ambitious, hard-working people to join this project to help us achieve this.

The role:

The successful candidate will manage all day to day aspects of running 2 bars across our new site located within Mercato Ilford. You will manage a team to deliver cocktails, wines and other beverages through training, knowledge, service and growing sales through astute business management.

Desirable requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and Friendly
  • Previous experience as a bar manager in a cocktail/beverage led business
  • Must be self-motivated and possess the desire for self-development
  • Enjoy wine and are qualified to WSET Level 2 or above
  • Have passion for sustainability
  • Ability to own and manage a workload of service and business administration
  •  Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends
  •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  •  Competently use EPOSnow back of house system
  •  Experience in ordering, invoicing, and stock control.
  •  Drink development experience.

 Responsibilities:

  • Advise and share knowledge of beverages with customers and team members.
  • Coordinate daily customer service operations (e.g., financial and stock reporting, orders, and payments)
  • Maintain neat appearance and venue cleanliness.
  • Organise tastings and events.
  • Manage customer, HR and health & safety issues and report any major incidences to the Operations Manager/HR manager when necessary
  • Investigate any issues with stock or equipment with escalate where necessary
  • Conduct yourself professionally at all times whilst on Mercato Metropolitano/BeBeMe property.
  • Be responsible for the payments you receive from customers and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Make sure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines (e.g., Health & Safety at work, including COSHH, and follow procedure and training)
  • To attend and lead training sessions and tastings when required and to complete Harri online training for the following courses within 21 days of starting: Basic Food Hygiene, Food Hygiene Level 2, Allergens and Health and Safety.
  • Lead recruitment and training of new staff members.
  • Write weekly rotas and carefully manage labour costs.
  • Report and be accountable for finance performance to the operations manager.
