Food Runner

JOB DESCRIPTION: Food Runner is La Sirena’s first service position. Beginning in the kitchen, your main responsibility is to bring dishes into the dining room to be served to the guests. You will take direction from the Kitchen Expediter on where (which table and position) each dish should be delivered. The Assistant Server and Server will orchestrate the service of the dishes for each station. You will also be responsible for bringing cleaned and polished wares into the dining rooms and bars. In order to serve dishes in accordance with the La Sirena service standards, you must have a through understanding of each dish, its ingredients and preparation. The quality of your communication will in part determine your eligibility to progress to Assistant Server. This is our entry-level service team position, if you have recently graduated from a hospitality or culinary school this is the place to begin your career with Batali & Bastianch Hospitality Group. This position is also perfect if you are seeking to develop your service skills and join a dining room team with a high standard of service.

You must know the NYC Department of Health codes relevant to food service. This is a full-time position, and you must be able to work a variety of different shifts. Adherence to the La Sirena dress and personal hygiene code is required.
