Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As part of the Dining Room Management Team, you will lead and support the dining room staff. You will set the tone for restaurant’s culture and present the best example for the rest of the staff. Although many different tasks will be assigned to dining room managers (including hiring, inventory, schedule, payroll, and continuing education), overseeing the actual dining service will be your top priority. By keeping an eye out for personnel and morale issues, you will be responsible for creating a safe, educational, and positive work environment.
As a Dining Room Manager, we expect you to be the most knowledgeable member of the service team, possessing a comprehensive understanding of all the food and beverage offerings, ingredients, preparations, and allergens. This knowledge is extremely important since you will be responsible for overseeing, training, and disciplining the service team.
This is not an entry-level position: Previous experience serving in restaurants with elevated service standards is a requirement. Previous experience as manager or in an upper level service role at a restaurant with a high standard of service is also essential. A working knowledge of Italian wine and cuisine is a plus, but not required. If you would like to join our dining room management team but do not have the requisite experience, please see our job posting for Junior Dining Room Manager.
You must know the NYC Department of Health codes relevant to food service, as well as be comfortable carding any guests who appear to be under the age of 21. This is a full-time position, and you must be able to work a variety of different shifts. Adherence to the La Sirena dress and personal hygiene code is required.
BENEFITS
We offer benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) after 60 days of employment.
