Job description

We are looking for a Head Sommelier to join our Front of house team.  The ideal candidate will have Michelin star/fine dining background.  Relevant and extensive wine knowledge is essential for this role.

Requirements of the Head Sommelier?

 

  • Self Motivated and well organised
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ideally possess intermediate WSET or equivalent Sommelier qualifications
  • Clear passion to deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Be an accomplished leader who can train and build a team

 

Head Sommelier Responsibilities:


  • Take full responsibility for the circa 600 bin wine list
  • Help to achieve restaurant profitability through revenue generation and effective cost control
  • Excellent knowledge of world wines, spirits and Cocktails
  • Working with the Operations Director to create and maintain a well-balanced wine list both price wise and representationally
  • Work with and learn from the extraordinary culinary and front of house talent in a diverse, energising and professional restaurant environment

 

In line with the requirements of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. As part of the recruitment process, you will be asked to provide documented evidence of eligibility

Michael Caines, one of Britain’s most celebrated and best known chefs opened the luxury country retreat Lympstone Manor in Devon in Spring 2017, gaining a Michelin star at Lympstone in October 2017. Located on the southern edge of Lympstone village, between Exeter and Exmouth, the Grade II listed Georgian mansion is set in 28 acres with unrivalled views overlooking the Exe estuary.
