Description
Become a part of dynamic team for a Midtown restaurant on the rise. Interface with high-end catering clientele during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fast-paced but pleasant work environment. Candidate must be punctual, creative, and responsible. Must have the ability to accommodate luxury clientele and use discretion. ο Ability to work independently, as well as with Management and fellow members of the Front-of House service team.
ο Professional attitude that comes through in personal interactions and communications.
ο Sharp and professional appearance, in accordance with Bedford & Co.'s uniform standards.
ο Gracious, polite and professional personality.
ο Ability to stand for 100% of your scheduled shift.
ο Ability to stoop to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Organization and the ability to prioritize daily tasks.
• Working knowledge of food products and cooking techniques.
• Working knowledge of coffees and teas.
• Good communications skills—in both verbal and written forms.
• Ability to perform all technical support functions through the course of typical lunch, brunch and dinner services.
• Ability to read and navigate a dining room floor plan.
• Exceptional ability to multi-task.
• Commitment to teamwork at all times.
• Keep service moving seamlessly and forward at all times.
• Knowledge of and adherence to New York State health department regulations.
• Carefully remove dish ware, glassware and silverware from the table between courses and set mis for the next course.
• Remove used tableware to the dishwashing station and properly scrape and sort all items for dishwashing.
• Promptly clear and reset tables between seatings.
• Setup, breakdown and maintenance of the coffee station and beverage refrigerator.
• Prepare and serve coffees and teas consistent with Bedford & Co.'s standards for preparation and deliver them to guests.
• Control costs by taking accurate inventories, limiting waste and preparing drinks at proper levels.
• Promptly prepare and serve warm bread and butter and assist with water service.
• Be ready and willing to assist servers and runners run food as needed.
• Restock and polish service items as needed throughout service.
• Make all our guests feel comfortable and well taken care of.
• Stay on top of menu and wine list changes at all times.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned by Front-of House Management.
• Maintain clean service areas at all times.
• Observe guests’ dining experience and respond appropriately to guest requests or alert their server as needed.
• Clean all spills promptly and discreetly.
• Graciously thank guests for their visit.
