To be an efficient and effective member of the management support team. Supports Duty Managers to deliver operational excellence through training and developing a strong team of kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety, handling customer enquiries and complaints. Leads and maintains an efficient and compliant operation of all kitchen shifts, overseeing kitchen sales to support the venue to achieve sales targets for food products. To hold regular training sessions with kitchen staff, ensuring that they are well equipped in product knowledge, customer service, safety, and general venue information.

Job Requirements include:
  • Over 18
  • Performing duties which require bending & reaching
  • Lifting & transporting up to 20 kg containers, dish racks, and rubbish bins
  • Standing or moving, for up to 8+ hours
  • Maintaining a hygienic and well-groomed appearance, following all uniform guidelines


Accountabilities:
  • Champion the guest experience by role modelling our standards, ensuring that the steps of service are being consistently observed.
  • Accountable for effective recruitment planning and selection events for the kitchen team, ensuring a high quality onboarding and induction experience through to probation completion. 
  • The timely completion of end of probation reviews and ongoing development reviews for the people in your team. 
  • Ensuring that your team’s schedules are done in line with the company’s rota principles.
  • Effective communication with the food service manager on your evaluation of work procedures, standards, identify methods for increasing efficiency or effectiveness, and respond proactively to any needs that have arisen.
  • Responsible for orders, deliveries, managing stock levels, stock take and stock control. 
  • Organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen during operational hours to ensure the smooth service delivery for guests. 
  • Identifies, reports, and escalates kitchen equipment and maintenance issues to the Duty Manager so they are quickly resolved to reduce impact on service. 
  • Lead on the implementation of food safety and hygiene standards ensuring all staff adhere to the standards and controls in place. Handling administration and paperwork ensuring that all confidential documents are secured, and that any personal data is stored correctly as per company policy.
Essential:
  • Food Hygiene Level 2
  • Experience of leading and motivating a small kitchen team in a busy venue.
  • Customer facing service experience.
  • Experience of stock ordering and control.
  • Experience of managing food safety standards.
Desired:
  • Food Hygiene Level 3
  • Allergen Awareness Level 2
  • Experience in high volume brand equivalent venues.
  • 6 months kitchen supervisory experience.
  • Use of a food ordering system.
  • Use of electronic point of sale.
