We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team at Head Office. This fast paced, role is integral to the smooth running of the gyms and finance function in this multi brand and multi-club company. You will be responsible for the full Accounts Payable function as well as reporting on gym daily banking activities/sales reconciliations.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will need to be able to develop strong relationships with operational teams and other departments. The role will also involve administrative duties, reporting and project support.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Processing all business invoices
• Managing and maintaining the purchase order system, including regular liaison with clubs to manage approvals / queries from suppliers)
• Reconciling supplier accounts
• Liaising with suppliers / resolving queries
• Preparing and checking payment runs
• Managing the Accounts Payable inbox
• Maintaining filing of finance team records
• Club banking
• Ad hoc projects

The ideal candidate’s personality and qualifications;

We’re looking for a natural team-player with an interest in finance and ability to work independently.

Ideally we require candidates to have had at least one year’s of Accounts Payable experience working in a multi-site business / dealing with purchase order invoicing.

Required skills:
• Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Be able to cope with high volumes of work
• Confident team player able to work effectively and independently in order to deliver results in a pressurised environment
• Proactive mind-set with the ambition to develop their own career and contribute to the future success of this leading organisation
• Strong organisational / time management skills with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
• Diligent with an attention to detail
• Up for a challenge

Required education:
• GCSE Maths and English, Grade A-C.
• Educated to a minimum of A Level / BTEC equivalent

Required experience:
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively to suppliers
• Prior experience gained in commercial environment, preferably multi-site
• Prior experience of working with finance systems

The ideal candidate will also have a keen interest in the health & fitness / leisure & hospitality industry.
