With sixth-floor views of the Empire State building and three wood-burning ovens, Stella 34 Trattoria is a modern trattoria and the dining star of Macy's flagship store.
Executive Chef Jarett Appell offers Neapolitan pizza from wood-burning ovens with fior di latte mozzarella, Caputo flour imported from Naples, San Marzano tomatoes from the foothills of Mount Vesuvius and water meticulously sourced from local wells to match the pH and mineral balance of the natural spring water in Naples.
The menu showcases al forno entrées, house-made pasta, "piccoli piatti" - signature Italian antipasti designed for sharing - and an all-Italian wine list of more than 100 bottles. The restaurant also features the Cibi Ronda - an Italian take-away counter - where busy shoppers can pick up chef-crafted salads, panini, focaccia, coffee and gelati from Italy's finest Vivoli gelateria.

The Responsibilities:
Most of your time will be spent on the floor assisting staff and guests; therefore a strong service background is essential. We are looking for a Team Member who:

• Actively participates on the floor where needed and knows where they are needed.
• Can enforce and maintain standards and Steps of Service.
• Multitask clerical responsibilities with service needs.
• Not being daunted by a 60 minute waitlist and can manage guest frustrations.
• Has good instincts when it comes to guest interaction and hospitality.
• Can motivate staff with a strong, secure presence.
• Knows how to laugh even during times of stress.
Job Duties:
• Ensure high standards of service at all times.
• Help train, develop, and motivate staff.
• Conduct departmental meetings.
• Educate FOH personnel in product awareness and cultivate long term service knowledge.
• Must be able to assess and solve employee and / or departmental situations.
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Be able to prioritize and organize.
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of all unit menu information.
• Ability to input and access information in management systems/computers.
• Must be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all work areas.
• Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and company policies.
• Ensure that assigned staff members have reported to work; document any late or absent employees.
• You may be called upon from time to time to perform other duties that may not be included in your job description at management's discretion.

The Requirements:
• Minimum of 1-2 years management experience in a fine dining.
• Impeccable service standards, clean work habits and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a high volume environment while always maintaining your sense of humor and appearing calm.
• Proven ability to lead others and positively influence employee behavior.
• Professional, polished appearance with the ability to interact with all types of team.
• Must have excellent verbal communication skills and have the ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have good administrative and computer skills. Computer knowledge including Word and Excel.
