Description
PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER

Manage the successful implementation of the public relations program for all of ThinkFoodGroup’s 31 restaurants, located throughout the US, Caribbean and Mexico, as well as the openings of future restaurants to come, primarily through PR agency teams in each of TFG’s key markets. The candidate will also manage support of the public relations program for José Andrés brand extensions, from books to food products. Overall objectives will be to drive awareness and excitement around the TFG family of restaurants and José Andrés brand extensions. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Communications.

•Manage the implementation of PR strategies to meet annual goals set forth for the PR department

•Manage the day to day activities of TFG’s PR agencies who represent its restaurants, José and brand extensions to ensure they fulfill the PR plan objectives

•Oversee all inbound media inquiries around the restaurants and products, manage photoshoot requests, individual or group media visits and scheduling of interviews

•Display proven, sound judgment in managing day-to-day PR decisions and strategies

•Work closely with the social media and marketing teams to develop synergistic efforts to manage the execution of promotional
efforts around the restaurants, events and partnerships

•Draft and/or edit press releases as needed

•Work with the Sr. Director of Communications to track and reviewing monthly reports to ensure PR goals are met

•Prepare regular PR coverage reports for leadership

•Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local community leaders, tourism offices, government officials,
industry colleagues and other PR associates

•Maintain an active presence in DC restaurant and media worlds

REQUIREMENTS

•Minimum 3-4 years relevant experience in Public Relations execution and management, either on agency side or in-house, ideally in food and beverage, lifestyle or hospitality industries

•Demonstrated track record of successful publicity work and working relationships with reporters and bloggers

•Proactive, professional and positive communicator
•Excellent professional writing and editing skills

•Readily adjusts to circumstances and manages change effectively

•Ability to multitask and remain organized

•Availability to attend events, interviews and travel on nights and weekends as necessary

•Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management

•Effective working relationship with team members and managers across geographical locations
•Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field

•Fluency in, or working knowledge of, Spanish is highly preferred
