JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Jose Andres ThinkFoodGroup is looking for a Junior Accountant to join our Finance Team in Washington, DC. This position involves all phases of accounting including: Management of General Ledger, Bank Account statements for multiple companies and comprehensive support to the Assistant Controllers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
• Support the Assistant Controllers in a variety of tasks involving accounting.
• General ledger, analysis, account reconciliations.
• Assist in the month end closing process.
• Identify re-class/correction entries and maintain appropriate files.
• Prepare reports, analyze variances, and make process recommendations for improvement in all areas touching the general ledger.
• Research material cash and credit card discrepancies.
• Reconcile gift and e-card accounts.
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.
• Assist with year end audit schedules and other requirements.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently.
• Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction. Ability to adapt and work in fast-paced, results-orientated, and rapidly changing environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• BS in Accounting
• Minimum 1-2 years related work experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting and generally accepted accounting practices.
• The ability to listen, understand, and fluently articulate information and ideas. 
• Must be familiar with business terminology. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Solomon experienced preferred
• Prior Restaurant experience preferred.
• Positive, “can do” attitude.
