BAKED is looking for a cake decorator to join the Red Hook team!
Baked is a classic American bakery and cafe with locations in Red Hook, Brooklyn and TriBeCa, Manhattan. Our bakery specializes in (even obsesses about) all manner of Americana baking. We create a vast array of cakes (we are particularly fond of the three-layer and Bundt variety), cookies, pies, tarts, muffins, scones, bars, and brownies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Wedding cake experience: You can single-handedly construct, compose, and decorate a wedding cake without supervision.
Work Ethic: You're punctual, quick on your feet, and a team player.
Food Safety: Follow all NYC DOH and Baked food safety standards vigilantly. Your friends should know you as the FIFO master.
Efficiency and Flow: Work swiftly and accurately so that orders are quickly finished.
Knowledge: Know our product backwards and forwards; from the sweet & salty cake swirl to our wedding cake aesthetic.
EXPERIENCE
Completed a pastry arts degree or certificate (must)
Worked in a professional kitchen for 2+ years (preferred)
Food handler's certification (recommended)
Punctuality: You're always on time and never call out.
Attitude: You're positive and professional toward everyone, and always willing to help your team.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Hourly wage (33-40 hours per week)
