CDC/Exec Sous - Workshop Kitchen & Bar
Workshop Kitchen + Bar in Palm Springs, CA, a nationally recognized culinary and design hot spot located in the historic El Paseo Building in Uptown Palm Springs Design District is growing! Looking for a highly talented (a.k.a culinary bad ass) Co-Chef de Cuisine or Exec Sous Chef to join an outstanding team led by Chef/Owner Michael Beckman.
Since opening 2011, Workshop has featured a highly market-driven menu comprised of seasonal food highlights harvested from local farms and offers a bar program - unlike anything else in the desert. Only open for dinner and Sunday brunch. Early in 2017 the team opened Truss + Twine just next door – a craft cocktail bar offering an extensive cocktail menu as well as a curated menu of bar bites.
By working with the finest ingredients available the Workshop team knows what is good and how to feature it and takes immense pride in a menu that pushes the envelope (The New York Times, Forbes, Variety, Vogue, LA Weekly, Eater LA, Zagat, Food Network, among many others seem to agree). Along with the food piece the restaurant design has been noticed, receiving the 2015 James Beard Award for Best Restaurant Design. The space is comprised of 90 seats inside an expansive patio with 70 seats.
The Co-Chef de Cuisine/Exec Sous Chef role:
Requires at least 5 years of experience in mid or upper level management in notable group. Culinary degree strongly preferred.
Will involve your creative input - the menu is heavily guided by Chef Michael but he looks to his team for input and it is very much a collaborative effort.
Really looking for team leader who can moderate the tone of the kitchen and is a strong people manager.
Catering is a significant part of the business and is continuing to grow and this role will play an active part.
