Description
** UPSCALE RESTAURANT SEEKING RESTAURANT DIRECTOR OF EVENTS**

An upscale Chinese restaurant slated to open in Bryant Park in the Fall, is currently looking for a professional Director of Events, who will be responsible for overseeing all event production from conception to completion; while also delivering an excellent guest experience. The successful candidate must be able to meet all restaurant’s revenue, profitability and guest projections while always maintaining efficient event operations. This candidate must always excel in productivity, quality, and guest-service standards.


Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct and administer all catering event operations to include, but not limited to, guest service, soliciting new accounts, negotiating contracts, merchandising and marketing, planning, event execution, cost control implementation, systems management, budget and forecasting, department management, adherence to federal, state and local standards and meeting participation and facilitation
• Develop market segments, solicit new customers, negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with current customers
• Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
• Recruit, interview and train team members
• Oversee event planning and management, including staffing, event timelines, site visits and walk-throughs, rentals and other vendor services
• Oversee event logistics and facilities, including coordination of load-outs & load-ins, inventory, vehicle assignment and maintenance
• Oversee culinary area and liaison with Executive Chef, including preparation of food, product inventory and ordering process, final expediting for events (food load-outs), and kitchen staff
• Strategically delegate, and re-evaluate, the daily workload and assignments of staff to execute deliveries, setups, and full-service events, in a manner that appropriately minimizes labor cost while maximizing customer satisfaction
• Assist with generating new event vendors and fostering good working relationships with existing event partners





Required Skills and Abilities

• Previous experience as Events Director in a high-profile environment
• Proven ability to manage events up to 1500 guest
• Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
• Demonstrated career experience in guest service management
• Extensive food and wine knowledge
• Proficiency in English
• Computer literacy and familiarity with restaurant management software
• Acute financial management skills
• Culinary school diploma or BS degree in Business Administration is a plus
