Description
Mitchells & Butlers has a fantastic opportunity for a Software Support Analyst - Stock Systems to join the Business Change & Technology Team on a 12-month fixed term contract, to provide technical support and expertise on an exciting project which is making substantial changes to its end to end supply chain.

The Software Support Analyst - Stock Systems will work closely with vendors, business change & technology and business colleagues to make major improvements to stock management based at the retail support centre in Birmingham city centre, the responsibilities of the Software Support Analyst - Stock Systems is varied and challenging, and includes the following:

• Own and manage the configuration of the applications, with a detailed understanding of how the configurations support the business processes.
• Proactively own the resolution of technical issues and problems, through focussed, effective problem management, and by delivering preventative support initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and relevant documentation relating to all technology support processes and cross train others within the support team.
• Develop knowledge of the systems and technologies deployed within M&B and embed that knowledge in Service Now to assist our 1st Line support teams.
• Perform and document routine system configuration tasks to maintain service, including Access Controls, Systems Maintenance plans and all other associated IT system administration.
• Quality assure technical delivery from Vendors ensuring project success.
• Follow IT security and risk management processes to mitigate potential risks and ensure exposure is minimal. Escalate any IT risks to the Application Support Manager and IT Governance Manager.
• Own and track the delivery of software updates, patches, and service improvements, liaising with the Release and Change Manager as required.
• Provide a service to business users within M&B as required to support the exploitation of technology and applications.
• Follow appropriate standards and best practices, aligned to ITIL industry standards to ensure adherence to BC&T guidelines.
• Provide support to the Application Support Manager in the creation of Support Models aligned to Business needs.
• Support the BC&T Service Transition into Operational Acceptance processes whilst ensuring no impact to live services.
• Act as a Change Approver for the relevant systems to ensure maximum service availability and minimise risk to services.
• Provide 3rd Line Support to the Service Management team during major incidents.
• Provide advice and technical expertise to new initiatives and authorised projects.
• Support Vendor Managers with supplier reviews and audits when appropriate. Support, maintain and exploit the software platform, ensuring that necessary bug fixes, enhancements, upgrades and infrastructure are fit for purpose and able to meet business requirements and for applications to be efficient and effective.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Support Role
• Significant experience and understanding of supply chain applications and prevailing technologies including some of the following:
o Stock Management applications, with experience of JDA Enterprise Store Operations being a possible advantage
o Experience of automatic replenishment and forecasting tools
o JDA Workforce Management for Retail
o Business Intelligence and Reporting suites
o Forecasting
o Database Management
• Demonstrable problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience resolving technical problems and communicating with business users
• Approachable style with a passion for continuously improving systems and processes
• Knowledge of IT systems and processes for supporting them
• ITIL Foundation V3
