Membership Manager, Beverly Hills

Reports to: Membership Director, Beverly Hills

Job Summary
An LA based position, based out of the club's premises in Beverly Hills, acting as a second in command to the Membership Director. A senior position within the team, supporting strategies, plans and initiatives created to generate, maintain and grow the clubs carefully chosen member base, with a focus on seeking out, engaging and converting a vibrant, diverse social and co-working community sourced from the style-leading creative, arts and business sectors. Helping to manage the membership team on a day to day basis (Managing one team member directly and the others in the absence of the Membership Director). Working to execute and arrange programming events, in-person meetings, on-site tours, tactical invitations and the highest levels of customer service to drive interest in joining. Monitoring new applications, providing reports on prospects and striving to achieve set targets for acquisition and retention member growth. Being a face of the club for members, working closely with the Member Relations Manager to identify potential future members. Helping organize committee meetings and contributing to the development of member services, amenities and benefits.

o Through utilizing personal and professional networks of contacts in the fashion, arts, creative, start-up and entrepreneurial business sectors, generate awareness about Spring Place, and interest in the co-working and social membership facilities it provides.
o Conduct research into on brand organizations in the immediate catchment neighborhoods around the club in Beverly Hills, and secondly, the wider Los Angeles era - fashion companies, media companies, record labels, film companies, creative agencies, art galleries, PR agencies, creative start-ups and so on, for membership outreach activities.
o With direction from the Membership Director, assume personal responsibility for short to medium term projects focusing on specific industries, neighborhoods, sectors, genders or age groups in order to develop prospects for new members.
o Arrange meetings to explain the benefits of Spring Place membership - co-working desks, support services, meeting spaces, programming, networking, dining, events and more.
o Invite target individuals and organizations into the club, organizing show-arounds and offering special invites to event programming.
o Liaise with committee members, other membership team members and internal colleagues to schedule and organize regular committee meetings, supporting the Membership Director to ensure they run smoothly.
o Directly manage the reporting Membership Administration Manager, setting objectives, monitoring performance and driving conversion and results. When the Membership Director is absent, act as presiding head of department, pastorally managing the team as a whole.
o Maintain a constant presence in the club, being a 'face' for members as and when necessary.
o Play an active part in contributing ideas to the members events programme, helping to ensure sure that events deliver against the expectations of the membership community.
o Help educate members about the club rules, and with guidance from the Membership Director, communicate with members about inappropriate conduct.
o Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the members of the club, and contribute to discussions around renewal time whether these members are an asset or should not be renewed.
o Engage in the local Beverly Hills and wider Los Angeles creative and club scenes, events, parties, launches and social settings, developing contacts, networking and building awareness about the club.
o On a day to day basis, monitor new membership enquiries and applications, noting the sources and proposers.
o Assemble reports on successful membership drives and the results of meetings, events and outreach.
o Monitor competitor co-working clubs to ensure Spring Place is competitive and offers market leading facilities and services.

Person Profile - A charismatic, highly social, customer facing individual with a large set of personal contacts across the creative, arts, entertainment and luxury industries in Los Angeles. A long term city resident with knowledge of LA's politics, different areas, creative groups and social scenes. Someone with experience engaging communities, or liaising with valuable customers, most probably in the hospitality, high end fashion or luxury sector(s). An individual familiar with working on high equity brands and projects - events, launches, exclusive happenings etc. A passionate team player with experience supervising and developing staff, with excellent drive and attention to detail, polished presentation and a natural ability to build relationships. Experience with dealing with celebrities and high profile events useful.
