Service Assistant

Main responsibility

An ideal candidate would be creative, genuine, friendly and resourceful. A passion for hospitality and a thorough understanding of all food and beverage trends is essential. Attention to detail and the ability to engage our membership with insightful, intelligent and friendly conversation. Excellence will be a main focus in this role. The Service team will work closely with the management and bar teams to ensure flawless service each and every time. This is a front of house position, where building and maintaining relationships with our members is paramount.

As a SPBH Service Assistant, you will be responsible for the successful day-to-day service and general upkeep of the dining and service areas while supporting the service team in daily operations, maintaining quality and exceeding expectations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Welcomes all members upon arrival to restaurant and rooftop spaces
• Provides exceptional service to all members and event guests.
• Runs all dishes from kitchen to appropriate tables and seats.
• Runs all beverages from beverage stations to appropriate tables and seats.
• Supports service team by clearing and resetting all tables before, during and after service.
• Polish all glassware/silverware
• Fold and replenish napkin par levels.
• Restock all service stations.
• Set up dining tables with appropriate settings for time of day.
• Assist service team in setting up/breaking down special events.
• Maintain general cleaning practices and assit in general upkeep and maintenance of restaurant, rooftop and lounge spaces.
• Communicates with management, FOH and BOH teams to ensure restaurant standards are upheld.
• Acts as ambassador of Spring Place in all dealings with membership.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace at all times.
• Maintains consistent attendance.
• Maintains a positive attitude whenever on floor.
• Arrives for work at scheduled time in clean and pressed uniform.
• Follows all company procedures, safety rules and guidelines.
• Complies with health, safety, sanitation regulations and alcohol awareness standards.
• Perform additional service related duties as required.


Capabilities

We are looking for a team member who is personable, proactive and skilled in the nuanced art of service support.
• Food Handler Card
• Responsible Alcohol Handling Card (T.I.P.S. Certified) (optional)
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or equivalent education combined with 1 year work experience in the hospitality, food and beverage or event industry
• Highly professional
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, be detail oriented, organized and maintain confidentiality
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Able to navigate stairs while carrying items (dishes, beverages, etc)
