Tucked between the Penisula and the Waldorf Astoria hotels and steps from Rodeo Drive, you’ll find the entrance to Spring Place Beverly Hills. Attracting leaders in SoCal’s entertainment, fashion and artistic industries, the community here inspires the creative spark. Our West Coast addition boasts co-working space, Resident Desks and 18 private offices that span two floors including showroom space, private phone booths, and private conference rooms that accommodate the needs of the visionaries and change-makers that cohabitate here. Meanwhile work blends with play as we offer a rooftop bar and lounge overlooking the sprawling cityscape of downtown LA.


Main responsibility

An ideal candidate would be creative, genuine, friendly and resourceful. A passion for hospitality and a thorough understanding of all food and beverage trends is essential. Attention to detail and the ability to engage our membership with insightful, intelligent and friendly conversation. Excellence will be a main focus in this role. The Service team will work closely with the management and bar teams to ensure flawless service each and every time. This is a front of house position, where building and maintaining relationships with our members is paramount.

As a SPBH Host, you will be responsible for the successful day-to-day service and graciously greeting and seating all members while supporting the service team in daily operations, maintaining quality and exceeding expectations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Warmly greets all members upon arrival and departure to/from restaurant and rooftop spaces.
• Provides exceptional service to all members and event guests.
• Knows all members on sight.
• Updates and maintains membership notes for service purposes.
• Inputs and confirms all reservation inquiries.
• Maintains a clean, well-groomed professional appearance at all times.
• Operates OpenTable reservation system, its waitlist and seat all members in an efficient and timely manner.
• Answers telephone calls in a timely manner and manages phone system
• Takes messages and relays to appropriate parties with all relevant information.
• Manages cleanliness standards in guest restrooms.
• Alerts management team when restroom necessities’ inventory is running low.
• Is knowledgable about restaurant information regarding cuisine, culinary team and private dining opportunities.
• Communicates with management, FOH and BOH teams to ensure restaurant standards are upheld.
• Acts as ambassador of Spring Place in all dealings with membership.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace at all times.
• Maintains consistent attendance.
• Maintains a positive attitude whenever on floor.
• Arrives for work at scheduled time in clean and pressed uniform.
• Follows all company procedures, safety rules and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Capabilities

We are looking for a team member who is personable, proactive and skilled in the nuanced art of hosting.
• Food Handler Card
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or equivalent education combined with 1 year work experience in the hospitality, food and beverage or event industry
• Highly professional
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, be detail oriented, organized and maintain confidentiality
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Able to navigate stairs while carrying items (dishes, beverages, etc)
